Performance For Life · Adult Workshop · Online

Training that gives back, not takes

Most adult training is just another stressor: something you have to recover from, that wipes you out for a day or two and quietly takes from the rest of your life. Done right, it's the opposite, an input that gives you more energy, fewer aches, and a body that performs when your real life demands it. In 30 minutes, learn how to train like an athlete: measured, minimal effective dose, built to make you better at everything that matters, not to make the workout the main event.

Train less. Get more.

There's a difference between getting tired and getting better. Between punishing yourself and building something that lasts.

Too often adult training is built to make you sweat, but don't confuse sweating with making you better. This workshop breaks down how we train adults the way we train athletes, scaled to you: how to get stronger, move well, and feel and look your best, without living in the gym. No fluff. Everything you take away, you can use straight away.

What you get when you register

Real value you can act on, whether or not you ever train with us.

  • The live online workshop, roughly 30 minutes of teaching plus Q&A, showing how to train smarter as an adult.
  • The full recording, sent to everyone who registers, so you can rewatch it or catch up if you can't make it live.
  • The Adult Training Checklist (PDF), sent to you after the workshop, so you can put what you learned straight into practice.

That's the workshop: clear teaching, a checklist, and tips you can use on your own. If you decide you want help to actually put it all in place, there's one path from here, and it starts with the session below.

Train like an athlete, scaled to you

We don't run fitness classes. We run one world-class athlete system, scaled to your body and your goals.

Speed, skill, strength, endurance and flexibility, built on the same system our athletes use and scaled to where you're at. Speed and quality of movement sit at the centre of how we build you up and how we train around aches and old injuries: the same mechanics that make an athlete durable are what take your aches from "normal" to gone. Get the foundation right and everything else follows.

This is the full athlete method, scaled. The one difference is that we manage risk versus reward for an adult body, so you get the strength, power and movement without the flat-out sprinting that doesn't pay off for most of us. If you're younger, or you want full athletic development with sprint training included, that's our athlete workshop.

"I set lifetime PBs at 39. Not by redlining every session, but by changing the question to: how do I get a little bit better today? That's the exact same focus our athletes train with."

Tim Madden · Head Coach

Your main event isn't the workout

Watch how elite athletes actually train and it's not what social media sells you. It's measured. The minimal effective dose. Just enough to get better, never so much they can't perform when it counts. The workout is never the main event. The event is.

For you, the main event isn't a grand final. It's a 14-hour shift. A business with your name on the door. Keeping up with your kids, and being switched on when people depend on you. We train you to show up to that at your best, with energy still in the tank, not wiped out and sore from a session that took more than it gave.

Living in the gym and smashing yourself in a class can feel productive. It isn't. If training leaves you too cooked to do anything else well for the next two days, it's costing you more than it's giving.

Why how you train now decides how you age

The strength, movement and capacity you build now is what keeps you capable, pain-free and independent for decades. Leave it to chance and the aches compound, the strength keeps slipping, and "normal" quietly gets smaller every year.

Train it deliberately and you flip that: you get stronger, move better, and feel and look your best, with energy left over for everything else that matters. It's the difference between managing your body and actually building it.

The numbers we actually care about

Forget training every set to failure, or chasing the numbers on the bar. One world chases soreness with no shortage of help to recover from it; the other chases PB lifts. Neither is the point. These are the numbers that count:

  • Do you have more energy?
  • Do you have fewer aches?
  • Are you able to do more?
  • Are you performing better for the people who need you?
  • Are you seeing improvements when you look in the mirror?
  • Is your doctor happier with your latest results?

If the answers aren't yes, everything else is irrelevant. One body, one life, and we want to make it count. You don't do that by spending ten hours a week in the gym, then the rest of it exhausted or in pain from training.

The 5 abilities behind a capable, resilient body

Coordination sits at the top, built on five trainable abilities. Develop them and you move better, get stronger, and stop breaking down, at any age.

↑ COORDINATION
built on…

Speed

Power and athleticism. The quality adult training usually leaves out.

Skill

Movement quality and control, in training and in everyday life.

Strength

Stability, control, and the ability to handle real load.

Endurance

The capacity to keep going, without running on empty.

Flexibility

The range to move freely and stay resilient.

The mistakes good, busy adults keep making

Plenty of effort, pointed in the wrong direction. The common ones we see:

  • Making the workout the main event. Putting training first, like it's the most important thing you've got on. Smash yourself today and you're flat for everything that actually matters tomorrow. Elite athletes don't train like that, and neither should you.
  • Training to get tired, not better. Chasing soreness and sweat as proof it worked. Punishment isn't progress, and it's why nothing actually changes.
  • Skipping real strength. Endless cardio and classes while the one thing that protects you as you age, strength, gets left out completely.
  • Random programs with no assessment. Following a generic online plan that has no idea about your body, your aches, or where you're actually starting from.
  • Too much, too soon. Going from nothing to five sessions a week, getting hurt, and stopping. Consistency beats intensity every time.
  • Training to burn calories. Exercise burns far fewer calories than people think, and smashing yourself can leave you burning less overall. Train so hard you're wiped for the rest of the day and you move less without noticing, so your total daily output actually drops. The point of training, the same as it is for athletes, is to build a more capable, robust body. You don't get there by smashing yourself. Quite the opposite.

The thread through all of it: effort with no roadmap. We give you the roadmap, and show you exactly where you stand.

What you'll learn in 30 minutes

  • Why "more" isn't working, and what actually moves the needle as an adult
  • The 5 abilities your body needs, and how coordination ties them together
  • How to build real strength and move well in as little as two sessions a week
  • Where training actually fits in fat loss: why NEAT and EAT mean exercise isn't your best weight-loss lever, and what its real job is
  • How to train around aches and old injuries instead of pushing through them
  • What to look for in a program to know it's actually building you, not just tiring you

Who we built this around

Our adult sessions run mid-morning, at 7:30 and 8:30am. That's deliberate. We're not trying to suit everyone, we built it around the people the mainstream gym can't serve, at the time the mainstream gym sits empty:

  • Shift workers, nurses and emergency services. Coming off a shift, or on a roster where a 9-to-5 gym time is useless. Mid-morning is when you're free and everyone else is at a desk.
  • Business owners and self-employed. You own your calendar. You can train at 8:30 because no one tells you that you can't, and you know your capacity is the business.

The gym is quiet, you're fresh, and you're done before the day takes over. If that's you, this was built for you. If 7:30 or 8:30 genuinely can't work, the workshop and checklist will still help you train smarter on your own, and we add more times as the group grows.

Want help putting it all in place? Start here

The workshop gives you the knowledge and the checklist to act on your own. If you want our help to actually implement it, the coaching, the programming and the ongoing support, there's one way in: the in-person Adult Testing & Plan session at our Lavington facility. It's how we take on every new member, so we know exactly where you're starting from.

In that session we:

  • Test your movement, strength and capacity
  • Break down where you're strong and where you're leaking
  • Give you 2 to 3 clear priorities for your next phase of training

From there, if it's a fit, you roll into our adult sessions: coaching, programming and ongoing support, run mid-morning at our 7:30 and 8:30am times. Your $49 today is credited toward the Testing & Plan session.

Adult Testing & Plan: normally $149, just $100 for workshop attendees  (and your $49 workshop fee is credited toward it)

How it works

Three steps, in order, so everyone's on the same page and the next move is always clear: the why, the what, then the how.

1

The why: the workshop

$49, online, around 30 min + Q&A. Why most training takes more than it gives, and how to flip it. Afterwards you get the recording and the Adult Training Checklist. Can't make it live? Register anyway, it all still comes to you.

2

The what: Testing & Plan

The only way into our adult sessions. We test your movement, strength and capacity, show where you're strong vs leaking, and set 2 to 3 clear priorities. Limited spots, and your $49 is credited.

3

The how: start training

We map exactly how we'd train you, then you roll into our 7:30 and 8:30am sessions with the coaching, programming and support to make it happen.

Common questions

What exactly do I get for my $49?
The live online workshop (around 30 minutes plus Q&A), the full recording, and the Adult Training Checklist sent to you after the workshop. The individual testing and plan are a separate step, not part of the workshop.
How do I actually join your adult sessions?
The workshop is the starting point. From there, the in-person Adult Testing & Plan session is the only way we take on new members, so we can see exactly where you're at before we start. If it's a fit, you move into our adult sessions with full coaching, programming and ongoing support.
Is this a gym membership or a fitness class?
Not in the usual sense. We run the same world-class athlete program, scaled for adults, so you train with a plan and a purpose, not just to sweat. The goal is to move well, get genuinely stronger, and feel and look your best.
I've got aches and old injuries. Is this for me?
Especially for you. We assess you individually first, then train around what's going on and build the strength and movement that take those aches from "normal" to gone.
How much time does it take?
As little as two 45-minute sessions a week. It's about doing the right things in the right order, not living in the gym.
When could I train if I join?
Right now our adult sessions run mid-morning, at 7:30 and 8:30am. That's deliberate: it suits the people we built this around, shift workers, nurses, emergency services and business owners, whose schedules don't fit a 9-to-5 gym. The gym is quiet, you're fresh, and you're done before the day takes over. If those times genuinely can't work for you, the workshop and checklist will still help you train smarter on your own, and we add more times as the group grows.
I haven't trained properly in years. Am I too far gone?
No. We start exactly where you are and build from there. The Testing & Plan session shows you your starting point and the fastest path forward, whatever your age or history.
What if I can't make it live?
Register anyway. The recording is sent to everyone who registers, the checklist follows after the workshop, and the Testing & Plan offer still applies.

Start feeling like yourself again

30 minutes that change how you train for the next decade. Register now, and if you can't make it live, we'll send you the recording, with the checklist to follow after the session.
